This year, we will have to deal with several disturbing labor actions. As I write this, movie writers and actors have gone on strike. The United Auto Workers are also on the verge of shutting down domestic U.S. automobile production at a time when the auto industry is in serious trouble. The air transportation workers will also be on strike.

AI and the massive pay disparity between CEOs, other employees, and unionized workers are cited as contributing factors to this strike’s total impact.

HR should be one of your best defenses against such collective employee actions. It has, however, been more of an organization of compliance that covers up the mistakes of executives than it is of care for employees.

AI could have an enormous positive impact on work-life balance and fair compensation. It could transform companies into better places to work. However, AI is still too often portrayed as a danger to employees rather than a benefit.

Let’s discuss AI’s potential to improve employee/employer relationships and help executives make more informed decisions. We’ll end with my Product of the week: a new portable gaming system powered by AMD from Lenovo.

IBM’s AI concept: Embracing it

IBM has made it clear that AI is meant to complement employees rather than replace them. Companies planning to use AI need to take this to heart.

Take, for example, the recent actors’ and writers’ strike. In recent years, the movie industry has suffered from several high-priced failures. The actors weren’t to blame, but studios often changed the scripts, or directors didn’t understand the subject matter.

Executives often make poor decisions for many reasons. Oft, it’s because they want to show off their authority and not let someone else make the decision. To ensure the success of TV and movies more effectively, artificial intelligence could be used to replace writers and actors. Artificial intelligence could be used to replace writeShazam! Looking at some of the recent failures like “Shazam!

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods should have been made into a television show because it lost all the fun of the first. Shazam should have fought Black Adam alongside Superman because that is a very popular storyline.

The Little Mermaid tried to show diversity by making the same mistakes as the first “Ghostbusters’ remake” and the Wild Wild West movie for Ghostbustersin,  a diverse storyline, losing fans. The fact that neither film was able to embrace the old storylines didn’t help either.

You don’t have enough D&D fans to make the movie successful anymore.

The failure of ‘The Flash’ was especially frustrating because an animated film called ‘Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox was a success. The plot would have been much better if they had made a live version.

Compare that with Barbie, which showcases the diversity and women’s rights by creating” a story that embraces a character’s parightsut still works the message in without offending Barbi but still conveys the messager.” This is an old topic and shouldn’t be successful. But I was brilliant and had historical significance.

The AI replacement of writers and actors could be more detrimental to successful films than helpful for more successful movies because a large part of their success is often due to the quality of their acting.

However, AI would not have increased the chances of success; it would have only decreased financial losses. AI can be used to make more unsuccessful movies. When you factor in marketing costs, you will lose less money on each movie but more overall.

Automobile

Take Tesla and electric cars. I once met with a former CEO of Ford and told him that Tesla would eat his lunch if he did not understand what Tesla was doing. Tesla created a zero-compromise electric car and developed a charging system to ensure that buyers had a great electric car experience. Teslas are new cars, not gas vehicles with electric motors.

The U.S. auto companies considered what Tesla was doing as an optional list, when in fact, iTesla’s working”. Even though their designs were more attractive and” had a higher build quality than Tesla, none of them have been as successful.

The formula Tesla’s Simplee did not involve the employees. However, the car companies refused to use it and were unsuccessful. The major issue in the film industry was not excessive labor costs or substandard labor. The problem was bad decisions made when crafting a solution that would be competitive.

AI Decision Support

AI is not meant to replace workers but rather to improve decision-making so that the people making them make better decisions. AI and the metaverse provide large-scale simulations based on can-do thinking. You can model the past and use AI to guide you in the right direction.

It shouldn’t be difficult to make movies or cars people want to purchase. AI can help speed up the time to market for new designs by eliminating tedious tasks such as storyboards and models of clay to create a more accurate representation of the final Product.

Automating production won’t solve the problem if you are making bad decisions. You will end up with even more. First, you need to improve the decision-making process. Then, focus on cost savings that eliminate unnecessary costs rather than removing resources that may turn out to be required later.

Wrapping up: That managed.

The U.S. automotive and film markets are both in trouble. These strikes will likely lead to the collapse of one or several of these companies without addressing their core problems. The problem is not compensation but poor decisions that cause product market failures.

AI should and can be used first to solve decision-making problems. This will result in more products and a greater percentage of success. When placing these workers, companies should use AI to help them eliminate the less fun aspects of their jobs, such as rewrites and reshoots or compliance documentation. You can improve your company’s long-term viability by demonstrating compassion and empathy towards customers and employees.

I would also argue that we should rebalance the CEO and line-compensation, but this is a discussion for another line compensation used to improve employee performance and not to replace employees. This is especially true for executives who need to make better decisions and avoid mistakes.
