Intel’s Innovation Conference was held last week. Intel Innovation was much more innovative than Intel Vision. (I miss Justin Rattner’s former CTO Justin Rattner who made it seem li,ke Intel was cr, eating magic.

Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, who I believe still has the best chance of making Intel an industry leader again, did a commendable job in demonstrating that Intel is a step up. After the keynote, I stepping up with Gelsinger. I have always found him interesting, approachable and knowledgeable — rare quality,s for a CEO.

I believe we’re’re at the end of the traditional, Pwhich will either evolve or be replaced with a smartphone-derived PC. Gelsinger’s path is “evolve,” as he spoke of a rapid cadence in the future for AI-enhanced servers and PCs.

I learned that it might be worth waiting until mid-December before buying your next PC. This is because the new processors will have AI enhancements, and the graphics will be improved.

The Spectre Foldable 3-in-1 PC is an “evolved PC” from HP that could be the ideal tool for a sales representative or a CEO. It’s a sign of what’s to come.

Building the Six Million Dollar Man

In the 1970s, I watched a show called “The Six Million Dollar Man,,” in which a test pilot was injured and his body replaced with robotic prosthetics that gave him superpowers. There was a spin-off, “The Bionic Woman,” which I did not identify with as much.

Gelsinger showed me a set of hearing aids he uses, and we discussed them later. They use Intel technology, which allows deaf people to perform better than those who have a natural hearing.

Hearing aids can translate audio in real-time, remove ambient noise from an audio file, or participate in a conference. The hearing aids notify the user when someone is approaching. The user can switch to the new person, and the AI will automatically transcribe the conversation.

I think this is an early indicator of the next generation of prosthetics, replacement or enhancement parts that not only make up for the disability but create a greater result than nature did, making the six-million-dollar-man thing even more possible. Prosthetics such as this one will change the game for those who have been injured in war or while serving as first responders. They deserve our full support.

I anticipate that silogies will also be used in smart glasses and other types of prosthetics in the future.

Avoiding E-Commerce Refunds

Due to future fraud, many retailers have reduced their return policies. It is difficult to make online clothing purchases, as there are no guarantees that the clothes will fit or look good on us.

Gelsinger also demonstrated another technology, an AI-driven PC application that matches your clothing size to your unique body type and shows how you would look wearing the apparel. This technology would make online shopping for clothing as easy as buying it in a physical store.

I wouldn’t say I like returning things, and I would appreciate it if that never happened again.

Personal Created Entertainment

I like Taylor Swift, but I don’t really care about her lyrics. They remind me of my questionable behaviors when I was single. Gelsinger showed how this new PC AI called an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) can create a Taylor Swift-like song, but the AI made it.

He also showed pictures created by merging images or from descriptions, such as an astronaut assuming the pose of a dancer in a still image that he could then apply motion to. With the AI given the correct examples and directions, you can create your movies or TV shows.

Although I am sure actors worry that their images will be used for this purpose, I would like to include myself, family members, and friends in the movies I make. I would have a great time doing this. I do wonder, however, if my family and friends would support me, given my love of movies. It would be interesting to imagine myself as John Wick.

Prepare for a Pivot

Gelsinger revealed that Intel made a substantial investment in ARM’s IPO. In a subsequent break-out, it was revealed Intel is working with RISC V.

Intel is better positioned if PCs are replaced by something like Apple Macs, which combine traditional PC form factors with a smartphone ARM form factor. Some of my analyst friends have said that the Analyste is among the best PCs on the market.

Smartphones are advancing faster than PCs, even though x86 hasn’t yet run out of steam. Intel could pivot in the future to this technology. Gelsinger is doing exactly what a CEO should do: ensuring that his company can pivot if needed, to survive.

I remember a quote from Thomas Watson, Jr., of IBM, that saIBM’s id you should be able to change anything but yourself. Pat Gelsinger appears to be ensuring that Intel will be able, if needed, to do just that.

The Moment

Gelsinge, if needed, said that AI was in a Centrino-like moment and that he expects the technology to mature within 2.5 years, just like Centrino. My wife was a colleague of Gelsinger’s back then, and she told me that Andy Grove (I, intel’s former-CEO) referred to Centrino asformer CEO of his prostate. We can only hope that Gelsinger will improve the NPU logo.

AI is a big step up from Centrino. Intel was the driving force behind Centrino, which brought Wi-Fi to laptops. However, AI is driven by an external company and seems to be moving much faster.

I don’t think Gelsinger will have 2.5 years to do it, but he has clearly pushed Intel to move as fast as they can.

Wrapping up

Next-generation PCs are going to be smarter and more power with more power ande capabilities. I was impressed by the work being done at Intel Innovation and Gelsinger’s care to ensure Intel’s long-term success. I also enjoyed catching up with him. He covered for my spouse when she worked for him at Intel. I can’t thank him enough for this.

Intel, is, in any case, preparing for thcompanyure. The c, company company working to correct mistakit behind its them behind behind its compeits inabilityver, despite its inabilityin to CMOs, Intthe el remains one of the most powthindustryds in the industrtindustrywill be stronger as a result. It is not a question of if but when this will happen.
